INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — WISH-TV teamed up with Teachers’ Treasures for the seventh annual Gr8 Paper Push.
Our organizations paired up to help collect school supplies for teachers in and around Indianapolis.
Every school year, teachers spend an average of $800-$1,200 of their own money on school supplies to support students who attend classes without the needed materials. Amid the pandemic, the need has never been greater.
With the donations of money and supplies, Teachers’ Treasures can hand out more than $320,000 in school supplies to teachers.
Our sponsors also helped out by providing convenient drop-off locations around central Indiana.

WISH-TV's Gr8 Paper Push

8/10/2020

For the 6th Annual Year, Teachers' Treasures benefited from WISH-TV's Gr8 Paper Push, partnering with local businesses in Indianapolis to host supplies drives for Marion County classrooms. This year, with all the changes in what Back to School season looks like, varying across districts and in approaches, the drive was hosted virtually to raise money to purchase school supplies, and held more traditionally at a handful of locations accepting physical donations.

Teachers' Treasures was blown away by the support of the community, raising over $37,000 to buy supplies for teachers as they head back to school. While everyone has dealt with changes in the last year, we are still dedicated to obtaining and distributing classroom supplies to teachers of students in need. Check out the videos below that showcase how Teachers' Treasures is supporting teachers and the generosity of the sponsors of this year's Gr8 Paper Push!

On Monday, July 13, WISH-TV’s Anthony Calhoun hosted his annual AC Charity Golf Classic, benefitting Teachers’ Treasures for the 6th year, at the beautiful The Club at Chatham Hills in Westfield.

An amazing line-up of supporters showed up for Indianapolis teachers and kids, including celebrity guests Tom Allen, Bill Brooks, Quinn Buckner, Tamika Catchings, Mitch Daniels, Ken Dilger, LaVall Jordan, Johnny Manziel, Graham Rahal, Andy Roddick, and more.

This year’s event raised a record-breaking $250,000!

We continue to be humbled by the incredible impact attendees continue to make on classrooms across our city. We also are incredibly grateful for the hard work, passion, and caring spirit of our friend Anthony Calhoun for putting together this all-star event each year. Thank you all!

March 31st officially marks National Crayon Day, a celebration of the favorite childhood tool of creativity and expression. Crayons are a pretty big deal at Teachers’ Treasures; every year we distribute thousands across our city and help make classrooms a little more colorful.
This year, we decided our entire community needed to be a little more colorful, so we’re spreading the cheer with a virtual celebration--and you’re invited!
Here’s how to take part:
  • Download and color our Crayon Day coloring sheet.
  • Create your own festive crayon creations!
  • Share pictures of you with your Crayon Day sheet or creation (or just your creation if you’re feeling a little camera shy!) and tag Teachers’ Treasures on Facebook, Instagram (@teacherstreasuresindy), or Twitter (@ttindy). Use the hashtag #GetYourCrayonOn.
  • Teachers, if you have a Teachers’ Treasures Get Your Crayon On shirt, wear it, share a selfie, and help spread awareness of how Teachers’ Treasures has impacted your classroom.
  • Help us get more crayons into the hands of kids in need! Just $10 could get hundreds of boxes of crayons into classrooms.

BONUS: Enjoy our National Crayon Day 2020 Spotify playlist while you color and create!
