Honorees Craig Hendrick, Marcia Dadon, and Shay Dailey
This March, we honored three exceptional educators and Teachers' Treasures shoppers during our annual Dream Big event. Each received a generous scholarship from American College of Education and a cash prize from Joe & Sandra Slaughter to spend on themselves--not their classroom--to celebrate their achievements. Our bookshelves are bustling this semester thanks to the Molina Foundation!

As a 2018 Book Buddies Grant Recipient, the Molina Foundation has provided Teachers’ Treasures with 18 palettes of books; that’s approximately 36,000 books valued at over $240,000.

This treasure trove features titles from Disney Press, including Star Wars, Cars, and Frozen, for all reading levels. The selection is constantly changing as we unpack and will fill our book section for the next several months.

Teachers, don’t forget to check it out on your monthly shopping trip to see what’s new! We also love seeing the impact these books make on your classroom. Here are a few excited readers submitted by one of our teacher shoppers.

A huge thank you to the Molina Foundation for getting books into classrooms across Indianapolis!

Donut season is here! We’re officially entering a full-fledged donut hysteria as we gear up for the 4th annual Circle City Donut Dash 5K, presented by American College of Education, on Saturday, February 16, 2019.

If you’ve joined us before, we hope to see you again!

This year is bustling with some of the same great perks--like a free pint of Sun King and a shopping voucher for ALL educators--alongside some new additions. Joining the sponsor crew this year is Tito’s Vodka, and thanks to them you’ll also receive a drink ticket for a Bloody Mary to enjoy during your post-race celebration.

And as always, this tasty morning will be overflowing with donuts, donated this year by Jack’s Donuts downtown location.

If you’ve never joined us, we hope you’ll grab a donut and gear up for Indy’s tastiest 5K supporting Indianapolis teachers and kids in need!

This 5K event:
  • Is walker-friendly, so don’t be intimidated to sign up and join in the fun!
  • Is family-friendly. Bring the kids along. Those under age seven can walk with a parent for free, but will not be timed.
  • Features an optional Donut Challenge. Bring your appetite; those who take part in the challenge receive a dozen donut holes halfway through the race to eat before dashing through the second half of the race. Not feeling the competition? Sign up for the Non-Donut Challenge event and enjoy your donuts after you cross the finish line.
  • Includes a free race shirt (guaranteed if registered by February 10)
  • Has a complimentary shuttle to and from the race from the Arsenal Tech south parking lot.
And more!

We can’t wait to sprinkle some fun into your February.

On Thursday, June 7, Beyond Monumental presented Teachers' Treasures with a $15,000 check to support teachers and kids across Indianapolis.

The presentation took place on Monument Circle prior to the annual Monumental Mile event, a family-friendly run that kicks off the training season for the November Monumental Marathon. Teachers' Treasures Resource Development Manager Alicia Van Rensberg was on hand to accept the donation, which brings Beyond Monumental's total support contribution to Teachers' Treasures over the past few years to $45,000.

Each year Beyond Monumental generously supports Indianapolis-based organizations that serve education and youth causes. Other donations were presented to the Metropolitan School District of Lawrence Township, the Simon Youth Foundation, and the Indianapolis Public Schools Education Foundation.

Thank you, Beyond Monumental, for your support! Learn more about Beyond Monumental and the upcoming Monumental Marathon here.
