With 4 weeks of regular shopping and two Saturday shopping dates--including a special event with the Majestic Car Club Cruise-In--we were able to distribute over $1 million of school supplies. We are so excited about the impact this has made as teachers and students returned to their classrooms to kick-off the 2015-2016 school year.
Megan Ewing, an Earth/Space science teacher from Warren Township, shared this wonderful message with us about how Teachers' Treasures has been able to make a difference in her classroom so far:
"I was in today for just my second visit. I just can't thank you and the sponsors enough for the impact you are making! Just yesterday one of my young ladies came up and asked if I had an extra notebook she could have and thanks to you I was able to supply her with one! I had a special request for a new chair and you all were able to make that dream come true too (you can see the old one was quite lacking and now I have a Cadillac)! I have attached a couple of pictures from today. Thanks again for all you do for our students and teachers!!"
Thank you to Megan for sharing her story and these photos from her classroom!
Back to school season is always one of our biggest donation periods, but we can't stress enough that donations continue to make an impact all year round! With more than 2400 teachers and 100,000 students to serve this school year, we need your help to keep our shelves well-stocked through May. Visit our donation page to learn more, or visit our volunteer page to find out how your time can make an impact in Indy's classrooms.
Teachers, we're always in need of testimonials to share with our supporters! If you'd like to share how Teachers' Treasures has made an impact in your classroom, please email your story--alongside any photos you'd like to include--to firstname.lastname@example.org.
